How to post...

Welcome to the SSSFC Media Studies Blog...

This is for everyone to use to share their ideas, their thoughts and their favourite things.

It is the home of student media diaries for those studying the AS course, and it is a place for A2 students to collect resources and interesting information about the nine texts studied for the MS4 exam and answer questions that may come up in the exam.

It will also be somewhere that research can be analysed and kept for both MS3 and MS4 coursework projects.

Blogger is an easy site to post YouTube videos and images on so feel free to make links with new trailers for movies, music videos or interesting advertising virals you have seen recently.

Happy blogging and remember to add your name as a label each time you post or we won't know that you've left a message!

Here are some step by step instructions to get you started...

  1. Check your college email - you will have an invitation to become an 'author' of the blog
  2. Sign up to a Googlemail or Gmail account using your college email account - it's easy!
  3. Make sure that you store your username and password on your phone or email the information to yourself
  4. Load this website up and click on the 'New Post' button next to your email address in the top right hand corner of the home page
  5. You can now start typing away and adding posts - this will be your primary way of submitting work!

Two things that you must always do when posting a blog...

  • Give the post a title - make sure that it is clear what the post is about

  • Label the post - click on the tab on the right hand side and use the same name every time you post

Blogger allows you to add pictures to your blog which are saved - Just click on the 'Insert image' button at the top...

Upload videos that you have saved by clicking the 'Insert a video' button...

Link to other websites by (you guessed it) clicking the 'Link' button...

Impressively, it also allows you to add html. which might not sound particularly useful - but it means that videos from you tube can be hosted here!

Click on the share button at the bottom of the video you want to put into your post...

Then click on the 'Embed' button

Some code will appear that has been highlighted. Copy this highlighted code.

Go back to your post and click on the HTML button at the top left hand corner of your page.

Paste the code where you want it and then toggle back by clicking the 'Compose' button next to the HTML button you clicked a few seconds ago - easy!

Off you go...
